Space Safari is an extraordinary drone light show coming to Windsor in April. Join us on 19 April 2025 at Royal Windsor Racecourse as we transform the night sky into a cinematic storytelling experience!

Choreographed using swarm technology and AI, the Space Safari team will deploy 600 drones to showcase the wanderlust stories of the first animals sent to space before mankind.

The event will feature fairground rides, VR gaming stalls, an immersive sound and light experience and VIP packages.

Space Safari is a first of its kind event which brings the beauty of drone light shows to a wider audience. Eco-friendly and a sustainable alternative to fireworks, this drone show is an awe-inspiring spectacle for the whole family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time should I arrive?  Doors open at 5pm. We've added an array of activities for you to enjoy before the main show begins!

What time does the drone show start?  Drones take flight at 8:30pm.

How long does the Space Safari show last?  The main show lasts for approximately 25 minutes.

How many drones are used in the show?  Our spectacular display features 600 drones, creating a mesmerising visual experience.

Will the show be narrated?  Yes, the Space Safari show will be narrated by BBC wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan, enhancing the storytelling and overall experience.

What type of event is Space Safari?  Space Safari is an open-air, standing event. We encourage comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear to fully enjoy the experience.

What footwear should I wear?  Some areas of the site are on grass so we advise that you wear appropriate footwear and consider the weather.

Are dogs allowed at the event?  Yes, Space Safari is suitable for dogs! There is a designated area for dogs where the soundtrack volume will be lower, however please note that the event will have large crowds and bright lights in the sky and we encourage you to consider your dog's comfort. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

Is there a boat service to the event?  Yes, a boat service runs every 30 minutes from Windsor Promenade to the racecourse.

Can I park at the venue?  Parking is available at Royal Windsor Racecourse but should be pre booked.

Are fairground rides & the VR experience included in the ticket prices?  Please note that all activities, food and beverages are available to purchase separately.

Are carers eligible for free entry?  Yes, carers can attend for free, but they must provide valid proof at the entrance eg carer card.

Can I get a refund or change my ticket type?  We operate a strict no refund policy. Ticket type transfers are possible if there is availability, however there may be a cost depending on the tickets.

Will the event go ahead if there is adverse weather?  In the event of adverse weather conditions there is a possibility that the event will be postponed to a later date. All attendees will be informed via email and SMS messaging.
