Theatre

If you enjoy a trip to the theatre then Windsor’s Theatre Royal, nestled in the shadows of Windsor Castle, is most definitely for you.

This beautiful and intimate theatre has a wide-ranging repertoire all year round – from traditional pantomime and the classics to first productions of new work and one-night spectaculars!

Arts Centres

The Royal Borough has two fantastic arts centres – Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead and the Old Court in Windsor.

Enjoy a range of live evening entertainment including stand-up comedy, music and theatre.

Grab a bite to eat and drink before the performance and you can even take your glass of wine in to the show with you!

Cinema

Like going to the cinema?....then Windsor nightlife is perfect for you!

View the latest releases at the 8-screen Odeon in Maidenhead.

Or, if you are less ‘blockbuster’ and more ‘art cinema’, then Norden Farm shows films from all round the world plus live screenings of theatre, opera and dance from some of the country’s greatest performing art companies including the Royal Opera House and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Comedy

If you enjoy stand up, then keep your eye on Norden Farm or better still become a supporter so you get the heads up as to which comedians are coming to town.

Many acts, like Jon Richardson, Greg Davies and Micky Flanagan, use smaller, more intimate local arts centres to test out new material for their larger arena shows.

Attractions by night

Some of our visitor attractions come alive at night.

How about a thrilling evening’s racing at Royal Windsor Racecourse?

Evening meetings run between April and October and you can even arrive by boat – take the French Brothers Windsor Races shuttle from Windsor Promenade direct to the racecourse and avoid any road congestion!

How about an opportunity to see Windsor Castle after all the visitors have gone home?

Town Centre events

Christmas is a great time for Windsor nightlife events in the town centres, including Carols on Castle Hill and the popular Living Advent Calendar in Windsor and Eton town centres where different festive 15-minute performances or activities take place at various venues between 1 and 24 December.

Festivals

The annual Windsor Festival takes place each Autumn and features a huge range of musical and literary events, walks and talks, some taking place in amazing venues such as the Waterloo Chamber of Windsor Castle and the Windsor Guildhall.

If you are here for a corporate event and looking for something to do as a group in the evening, then why not enjoy an informative guided walk of Windsor or Eton before your evening meal?

Then decide what type of cuisine you fancy – there are many restaurants to choose from with some top notch Michelin-starred fine dining thrown in for good measure!

Safely home

If you decide to enjoy a drink, remember to get home safely.

Two taxi marshalling schemes operate in Windsor Town Centre for your safety.

The first is in Goswell Hill via a private hire vehicle booking system.

The second scheme operates from Victoria Street in conjunction with registered Hackney Carriages.
