A break in the Royal Borough would not be complete without making time for some retail therapy, and shops in the Royal Borough offer variety, choice and quality.
Windsor and Eton is a shopper's paradise in the Royal Borough's historical heart where high street retailers, designer labels, antiques shops and department stores sit alongside quaint, specialist and souvenir shops.
Windsor Royal, Station Shopping, is the perfect destination, as much for its historic and cultural surroundings as the good range of shops – including independent shops – coffee shops and restaurants. Dating back to 1897, the railway station was rebuilt for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and her waiting room can still be seen in the beautiful building which is now All Bar One. In 1982 British Railways and Madame Tussauds restored the station and created an exhibition using displays of wax models. It was not until 1997 that the station was remodelled into the shopping centre we have today. This was done very sympathetically and ensured that all the original features of this magnificent area remained.

Windsor Royal, Station Shopping is the place to come for high-end stores such as Jigsaw, Whistles and Hobbs. Pandora will serve your jewellery requirements or for unique gifts try Smith Silver, one of the many independent gift stalls found on the concourse. Space NK – with its vast range of beauty products – will ensure your cosmetic needs are met. Jo Malone is the perfect destination to treat yourself to a fabulous new fragrance or to buy a beautifully-presented gift.
Windsor Royal, Station Shopping connects to the pedestrianised Windsor Royal, Yards Shopping where you'll find eateries such as Ole & Steen, Pret and Costa as well as shops that include Cotswold Outdoors, Fat Face, Oliver Bonas and Craft Coop.
Windsor has much more to offer shoppers too in the pedestrianised Peascod Street, where alongside a wonderful range of chain stores you will find the family-run independent department store Daniel of Windsor, noted for its superb toy department! Peascod Street often hosts food markets where you can try freshly-cooked street food. You'll also find local drink on sale, such as beer from our very own Windsor & Eton Brewery.
Up near Windsor Castle, visitors will discover a fine choice of tourist shops for souvenirs of your trip to Windsor, but if you are looking for a tasty memento of your visit, head to Windsor Farm Shop where you will find a wonderful array of delicious local produce and gifts.
Whilst in Windsor a shopping trip would not be complete without a walk over the bridge to the pretty, historic town of Eton. Here you will find independent retailers to suit everyone’s tastes, such as delicatessens, gifts, antiques, traditional tailors and art galleries. Eton Antique Bookshop is a must for those interested in antiquarian books, maps and photographs.

In Maidenhead the emphasis is on high street brands but there are also some high-quality independent stores.
