Our press and PR activities are primarily aimed at:
• Independent travellers for weekend/short breaks in both domestic and overseas markets
• Group travel organisers
• Conference buyers.
VisitWindsor partners have the opportunity to receive press and media visits from national and international journalists and bloggers. Most trips we organise are for two nights and include accommodation and entry to local attractions. Find out more on our Media pages.
Working with partners such as Tourism South East, VisitBritain and trade magazines we have successfully welcomed many groups of buyers to the Royal Borough, proving it to be a very effective form of promotion. Aimed at group travel organisers, overseas agents, tour operators and conference buyers, our VisitWindsor partners participate by offering:
• Complimentary admission to attractions
• Complimentary or discounted accommodation
• Complimentary or discounted meals/refreshments
• Time and effort from marketing personnel.
The strategic aim of VisitWindsor's Visitor Economy Development Plan 2024-29 is to increase the value of the local visitor economy in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable and is supported by residents.
Our vision is that by 2029 the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead will be recognised as one of England’s most accessible and sustainably managed tourism destinations which celebrates world-class heritage, delivers opportunity to its residents and sees every departing visitor delighted by their experience.
Windsor and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead are at the heart of a new Berkshire-wide partnership that achieved accreditation as a Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) from VisitEngland in February 2025.
It means the Partnership led by VisitWindsor is now part of VisitEngland’s new national structure, directly connecting it with the national tourist board and UK government and giving local businesses a bigger say and visibility in policy and funding decisions.
The successful application from the six local authorities in Berkshire is the direct result of an 18-month project in partnership with Berkshire businesses and industry leaders, proving the region is home to world-class destinations and leading the way on economic development and sustainability in line with national priorities.
As part of the Royal Borough’s commitment to working with local businesses and other partners to secure investment, the achievement is the first time in over 20 years that Berkshire’s partners driving economic success have been recognised nationally.
The LVEP will be led by VisitWindsor, the Royal Borough’s tourism department, working in partnership with councils in Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire and Wokingham alongside Reading’s Economy & Destination Agency, VisitNewbury, landscape management organisations, Berkshire Film Office, education providers, and community groups.
LVEP status will give VisitWindsor and the partners access to development and funding opportunities that will only be available for those with the accreditation. It will also link the Berkshire partnership with other LVEPs with clear targets for growth and a strong emphasis on embedding sustainability, accessibility and support for businesses.
VisitEngland reported that Windsor is the most popular day visit destination outside London! If the Windsor brand is important to you and your business we very much look forward to working together!

Don't just take our word for it! Read some lovely testimonials from local businesses that are already benefitting from VisitWindsor Partnership membership:
"Our partnership with VisitWindsor has been invaluable, especially through the difficult times the hospitality industry has gone through. The Team has strived relentlessly to increase public awareness not only of the known landmarks, but also of the many great businesses and hospitality venues the Royal Borough has to offer. Keep up the good work; we’re very grateful.”
Tom Kadri, Hurley House Hotel
“I have found the VisitWindsor team an absolute joy to work with and always accommodating to members. Not only do they promote the theatre’s activities and busy programme on their website and social media channels, their networking
opportunities have helped open many doors for me, both within Windsor itself and the wider local area. This in turn has enabled me to build invaluable partnerships with the other members, which are of mutual benefit in promoting each other’s business interests.
"I’d urge every local business that engages with tourists and visitors to consider membership: just consider the VisitWindsor team as an extension to your marketing department!”
Jackie Bryans, PR & Development Manager, Theatre Royal Windsor
"We have been a member of VisitWindsor for a few years now. When we rebranded two shopping centres into one in 2024, the help and support from all the VisitWindsor Staff was amazing. The team is very proactive and efficient. The website and social media offering is a huge benefit to all of our tenants. The VisitWindsor website is one of the biggest traffic drivers to our Windsor Royal website. As a management agent for 60+ tenants VisitWindsor keeps us very well connected.”
Caron Cole, Operations Manager, Windsor Royal
"As a small family business that’s been operating in Windsor for over 45 years, we have found VisitWindsor a really good addition to our business profile. Our ability to reach out to potential customers has been stretched greatly thanks to the site, an informative, modern tool that speaks to a large number of people on lots of different levels and platforms.”
Adam Logie, John Logie Motorboats Ltd
“The Crown Estate has been a proud member of VisitWindsor since the Partnership was created in 2020. We value the year-round support we get from the responsive VisitWindsor team; we know who to contact and there is always someone to talk to.
"Through the Partnership we have ‘reach’ and can communicate our seasonal messaging to an audience that fits our target market.
"We consider it good value for money too; the team ensures we are getting the most out of our membership with helpful reminders about up-coming opportunities.”
Henry Harris, Visitor Communications Coordinator, The Crown Estate
