25 reviewsThe Old Court is a vibrant arts centre with an event programme that features an eclectic mix of live music, drama, comedy, and film and a bar run by Windsor & Eton Brewery.
Based in a beautiful Edwardian building and former Magistrate’s Court, Police and Fire Station, from which it takes its name, The Old Court attracts the best up-and-coming bands and comedy acts, and programmes a wide range of events including club nights, jazz, dance, theatre, classical music and film.
The Old Court Cinema shows films within the art centre's auditorium and it is the first time Digital Cinema has ever been available in Windsor, providing a complete DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives) experience with immersive Dolby surround sound and brand-new seats. The Old Court Cinema shows a great range of award-winning films, real blockbusters and live event screenings of ballet, opera, etc. There's a programme of six or seven films each month with films being shown on “second release”, just a couple of weeks after main releases, so expect an up-to-date programme alongside showings of foreign language and art house films.
The Old Courters: The Old Courters is a monthly matinee cinema experience for a more senior audience. Brought to you through the generous support of The Pargiter Trust via Berkshire Community Foundation and The Louis Baylis Charitable Trust, for one Wednesday a month The Old Court will be screening a matinee of a classic film. It’s a great chance for a friendly and sociable meet-up – and an opportunity to enjoy a film together. Meet in the Bar area for tea, coffee, biscuits and a delicious cake of the day. It’s just £5 including refreshments and a dedicated member of staff available to assist at all times!
The Old Court contains interesting and unique spaces that are available for private hire and is used by local community organisations to host weekly classes and workshops. The regular programme includes photography, dance, singing, yoga, music, meditation and art classes for both adults and children.
With a reputation for quality and excellence, Windsor & Eton Brewery manages and runs the bar and offers a range of locally-brewed cask, keg and bottle beers, as well as an interesting wine list and full range of spirits, soft drinks, teas and coffees.
The Old Court is within easy reach of the M4 (Jct. 6), M40 (Jct. 2) and M25 (Jct. 13). The nearest car park is 2 minutes away behind Windsor College on St. Leonard’s Road and there is also a multi-storey car park 5 minutes away on the corner of Victoria Street and Alexandra Road.
The Old Court is a 15-minute walk from Windsor & Eton Riverside Station and a 10-minute walk from Windsor Central Station. It is also well-served by buses to and from Windsor, Slough, Bracknell and the surrounding area. Routes 01, W1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 16, 600, 702 and 703 either go right by us or very nearby.
