Royal Holloway's distinctive Victorian architecture and stunning grounds are a popular filming location for the production of a range of films, TV shows, documentaries and commercials. Recent collaborations include Warner Bros, Netflix, The BBC and ITV. Royal Holloway is situated in 135 acres of beautiful parkland. As well as the stunning Victorian architecture of the Founder’s Building, your event can have the backdrop of quadrangles, colonnades, a modern pedestrianised square, woodland walks, a cobbled courtyard and sports facilities. Aside from ornately decorated Victorian rooms, there are lecture theatres, modern classrooms and a vast state-of-the-art library. Add on-site catering facilities and a large student and staff body of "extras" if required!
An iconic location, Cliveden House has been used for filming on multiple occasions. Those familiar with Cliveden House and its remarkable grounds, will no doubt have to do a doubletake when watching some of these films: Cliveden House stood in for Buckingham Palace in the iconic 1965 Beatles film ‘Help!’. The estate’s iconic Fountain of Love and Golden Clock Tower were recreated for the 2014 remake of Cinderella starring Lily James, and many of the scenes from the Hollywood movie ‘A Little Chaos’ starring Kate Winslet and the now late Alan Rickman, were also filmed at Cliveden. As well as the 376 acres of National Trust gardens and woodland available to production teams, filming has taken place at locations throughout the building, on the roof space and of course on the South Terrace.
Voted by The Telegraph as one of the Top 10 UK Film Locations, Hedsor House has welcomed a star-studded list of red-carpet actors over the years. Nicole Kidman, Tom Hardy, George Clooney, Ricky Gervais, Dustin Hoffman, Sting, Billy Connolly, Maggie Smith and Richard E Grant are just some of the extraordinary talent to have graced the building. Hedsor House has most recently played host to Call the Midwife, This is Going to Hurt, The Bubble, The Crown and Fleabag.
