A stunning shop and gallery space, Craft Coop provides a unique shopping destination for those looking for a one-of-a-kind gift, memento or even a treat for themselves.
Craft Coop gathers together beautiful products from local artists and craftspeople to create a remarkable collection of handcrafted gifts, including candles, textiles, homewares, and jewellery. In addition to the large area showcasing unique handcrafted products, the shop also has a gallery in the rear of the shop, highlighting local art and ceramics.
With one shop full of so many one of kind items, it’s easy to discover something unusual for the home, a special gift to be treasured, or a unique keepsake of a Windsor visit. Most items are handcrafted less than 15 miles away from the shop, and the artists who made the products are on hand to chat about their inspiration, the way the products are made, what they’re made of, and even how they can be customised for you.
As a Community Interest Company, Craft Coop is a social enterprise business which supports and nurtures local creatives by providing a Town Centre shop showcasing and giving them the opportunity to sell their products. The original Craft Coop shop in nearby Maidenhead started life as a pop up shop eleven years ago, and has won numerous awards, including Best Gift Shop in Berkshire (Muddy Stilettos Awards, 2019). In addition to the Maidenhead and Windsor shops, Craft Coop also has shops in Camberley and High Wycombe, supporting more than one hundred and fifty craftspeople across Berkshire Buckinghamshire and Surrey, with each highlighting local artisans, and celebrating local creativity. All of the shops are run by the artists who created the products sold there, and the shops are a mecca for people searching for beautiful and unique gifts, with the added bonus of knowing that the items are made locally. The Windsor shop was created during lockdown, designed to give a sales outlet to craftspeople whose art trails, craft fairs, and other events had been cancelled. Craftspeople worked together in small groups to put the shop together, and it opened on April 12, 2021 – the first day non-essential shops were allowed to reopen in England. Local customers and artists are justifiably proud of this beautiful new showcase of products made in and around Windsor.
The shop is located in Yards Shopping, Windsor Royal, next to Vision Express, and is open every day. Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm. For more information, contact Craft Coop at info@craftcoop.co.uk, or see their website www.craftcoop.co.uk, where you will also be able to purchase products selected from across all of the Craft Coop shops.
Windsor is easily accessible by car. The nearest place to park is the adjacent multi-storey car park, which is accessible on Charles Street.
Yards Shopping, Windsor Royal is a 5-10 minute walk from either of the two Windsor stations – Windsor and Eton Central, and Windsor and Eton Riverside. First Group operate busses in the local area, and the closest bus stop is on Charles Street.
