1. Feed the swans on the River Thames
Take a stroll by the River Thames and feed the swans. Walk along the promenade on the Windsor side of the river or cross over the pedestrian bridge for a view back to Windsor from the greenery of Eton Brocas.
2. Conquer the Long Walk!
Stretch your legs and conquer Windsor Great Park's Long Walk ending up at the enormous statue of King George III, 'the Copper Horse'. From there you’ll get an amazing view of Windsor Castle and the surrounding area. You might be lucky enough to see herds of deer grazing as you walk through Windsor Great Park’s deer park.

3. Explore Windsor's Guildhall Island
Explore the cobbled streets of Guildhall Island beside the Castle and behind the Windsor Guildhall. They hold many surprises including: The Old King’s Head in Church Street which bears a plaque recording the warrant for the execution of Charles I in 1648; Burford House, reputed to be where Charles II housed his favourite mistress, Nell Gwynne; and Queen Charlotte Street which is one of the shortest streets in Britain at just 51 feet, 10 inches. 4. Enjoy a freshly pulled pint in Windsor & Eton Brewery
Enjoy a freshly pulled pint in Windsor & Eton Brewery which is open New Year's Day 12-8pm. For hundreds of years, Windsor was famous for the quality and consistency of its beers but the last brewery in town closed in 1931. However, in 2010 Windsor & Eton Brewery brought craft brewing back to Windsor’s heart and their beers have won many international, national, regional and local awards. The Brewery’s Taproom serves up to 22 beers on tap of their flagship Bitters, IPAs and Pilsners alongside some guest beers and ciders making it the perfect place to come and enjoy freshly brewed award-winning beers.
