Put down your phones, pick up a frying pan and join the one-and-only pancake seasonal sprint in Windsor.
The race is on to find the ‘batter’ and best teams in the 2025 Windsor, Eton and Ascot Town Partnership Charity Pancake Race as the Royal Borough once again revives the ancient tradition with a dash to the finish at Windsor Royal, Station Shopping on Shrove Tuesday (4 March).
Open only to businesses the heats will consist of two-person teams lining up from 10am in Windsor to race in relay fashion, along a 50-metre course, tossing their pancakes three times as they compete for top honours and a shiny trophy.
Teams are encouraged to don the traditional pancake racing gear (skirt, apron, headscarf) and frying pan (there are NO concessions for male participants!) – there will be a prize for the best-dressed team.
Organised by the Windsor, Eton and Ascot Town Partnership and Windsor Royal, the proceeds will go to charity and the Windsor and Eton Christmas Lights Appeal. Entry fee is only £20 per team but businesses are welcome to donate more if they wish. Teams can sign up online here.
There will also be a special Mascot-only race.
