FREE PUBLIC OPEN DAY at the Windsor Guildhall on Wednesday 9 April! To commemorate the 20th wedding anniversary of Their Majesties the King and Queen, the Windsor Guildhall is opening their doors to visitors for one day in the Easter Holidays.
The building will be open from 10-4pm on Wednesday 9 April and you will be able to step inside the Ascot Room and see the room laid out as it would have been for the wedding ceremony of The then Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005. Free entry all day, no need to book.
In the adjoining Council Chamber, nine local florists are each contributing a custom floral display with a theme of ‘Royal Windsor’ which promises to be a striking photo opportunity.
The Windsor & Royal Borough museum team have curated a small exhibition along the theme of royal weddings in Windsor which will also be on display in the museum which has free entry to all from 10-4pm.
Throughout the day there will be a range of free craft activities for children available . For anyone wanting to learn about the history of the building and the Guildhall's collection of royal portraits, there will be paid guided tours from the museum team at 2pm and 3pm. Refreshments supplied by The Cobbles Windsor will be available to purchase outside on the Corn Market area.
If you’re thinking about getting married at the Guildhall, the Guildhall event team and Royal Borough registrar team will also be available from 12-2pm to offer advice and guidance to anyone considering hosting their ceremony at the Guildhall.
