The event will start with an introduction to the mediaeval manuscripts that St George's Chapel owns. After a brief refreshment break and a chance to view St George's manuscripts, Dr Tristan Franklinos will deliver an illustrated lecture on a unique literary, musical, and artistic manuscript which contains the text for Orff's Carmina Burana. This manuscript is not held at St George's. Dr Franklinos is a Lector in the Faculty of Classics, Oxford University. He is a specialist on mediaeval and renaissance Latin manuscripts.

The event ticket does not grant you access to any of the State Apartments, Precincts or St George's Chapel.

The Manuscripts at St George's Chapel Archives & Library event will finish by 5pm. Why not stay on and attend Choral Evensong in the beautiful St George's Chapel immediately following the event at 5:15pm? Just ask staff for directions.
