A spellbinding evening of three tales of the supernatural told by actor Gerard Logan. Hauntings is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Friday 20 December at 8pm. Tickets are £16 | £14 Supporters.

Gerard Logan brings his masterful storytelling of two of the world’s greatest writers of ghost stories - EF Benson and MR James.

From EF Benson comes: Naboth’s Vineyard – in which just desserts are meted out to an unscrupulous lawyer, and The Hanging of Alfred Wadham – in which the forces of the devil test a man of faith to his limits.

From the acknowledgment master of the ghost story genre, MR James comes: Oh Whistle and I’ll Come to You, My Lad – in which a medieval spirit strikes terrorises an arrogant professor.

The tales are told and performed by actor Gerard Logan. Gerard trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where he won the Bancroft Gold Medal. His credits include leading roles in TV, film, radio and classical and contemporary theatre roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Gerard won The Stage Newspaper’s Best Solo Performer Award at the 2011 Edinburgh Festival for his acclaimed performance in Gareth Armstrong’s production of Shakespeare’s The Rape of Lucrece. He also won the Best Actor award at the 2014 Buxton Fringe Theatre Festival.

Directed by Gareth Armstrong, who is an actor, director, writer and teacher. His roles have taken him to over fifty countries. Gareth has directed a wide repertoire of work all over the UK as well as in Europe and America. He created one-man show, Shylock, which toured internationally for ten years. Since then, he has specialised in creating solo theatre pieces with other performers and playwrights.

Hauntings is underscored by a beautiful, original and specially commissioned score by the award-winning RSC composer Simon Slater. As an actor, Simon has appeared in films and many critically acclaimed theatre productions in London and abroad. His work includes Great Expectations at the West End, ‘Tis a Pity She’s a Whore at Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at the Globe Theatre and Death of a Salesman at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

With masterful storytelling from the award-winning actor Gerard Logan, Hauntings will transport you to a world of invisible, but terrifyingly present, spirits.
