Windsor has over a thousand years of history and so potentially a thousand years of ghosts!
The town has an unpleasant history of disease with houses right up against the castle walls. Someone wrote in the 19th century that 'beneath it's splendour, Windsor Castle was more dangerous than a jungle'.
Come on a walk through the town with Blue Badge Tourist Guide Debbie Keenan to hear about some of these ghosts with names like Charlie, George and Fred'.
The walk commences at Windsor Riverside Station at 7pm and continues through the spooky areas of Windsor. The walk ends at approximately 8-8.30pm at the Castle hotel, which has an incredible history of its own, which I am sure Debbie will regale us with. We will have a welcome glass of wine and sharing plates to enjoy and do feel free to stay on as long as you wish!
Please bear in mind the walk will take part in the dark and although mainly on pavements, may be up and down steps and cobbled areas of the town. (wear sensible shoes!)
