John Logie Motorboats in Windsor have been providing hire boats to locals and tourists alike for over 40 years.
John Logie Motorboats are a family company providing the public with vibrant, safe, clean, reliable, self-drive hire boats.
Located on Windsor Promenade that runs adjacent to Barry Avenue, you can't miss our fleet of bright yellow motorboats and gleaming blue rowing boats, for hire seven days a week (weather and river conditions permitting).
John Logie’s season is from April to the end of October.
All the boats leave in an upstream direction towards the next lock and weir at Boveney which is located 3.5 miles away.
Whilst onboard one of the boats you will be experiencing one of the most historical and scenic stretches of river in the world, encapsulating some breathtaking views of Windsor Castle.
Hiring your own boat – whether it be rowing or motor – is a great way of getting a different perspective of Windsor as a town.
We don't take bookings in advance; just wander down and one of our trained staff will be happy to assist you and answer any further questions you may have.
Safety is the number one priority and all children under fourteen will be provided with a life jacket. Life jackets for adults are available if required.
All motorboats carry a life ring and a fire extinguisher in the unlikely event they should be needed.
Full verbal operating and navigational instructions are given upon arrival. These are also on show in the boats and an emergency phone number is also on display in the unlikely event it should be needed.
All the motor boats are set to the correct speed limit of 4 knots – the speed of a brisk walk – and cannot exceed this.
So if you are local, a tourist or just looking for something fun and different to do, come along and hire a boat today.
We open at 10:30am and last hire time is 16:30pm.
