Based on a true story of a family caught up in the 90s recession. It’s the Economy, Stupid! is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 6 February at 7.30pm. Tickets are £16 | £14 Unwaged.

Armed with bags, boxes and an old board game, Joe Sellman-Leava and Dylan Howells embark on a quest to uncover how the economy wins elections. Why is a force that dominates our lives is so bloody complicated?

Joe Sellman-Leava is a writer of Anglo-Indian heritage. He grew up in Gloucester and Devon on a diet of Roald Dahl books, Beano comics and Nintendo games. He studied drama at the University of Exeter, where he co-founded Worklight Theatre. In TV, Joe has written extensively for animation.

Dylan Howells trained in theatre and performance design at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, graduating in 2017. He is co-founder of Despite the Monkey, a new media theatre company that specialises in championing the use of creative technologies in live performance.

Developed with and directed by internationally acclaimed Katharina Reinthaller, and produced by Worklight Theatre, It’s the Economy, Stupid! is a bold new play from the Fringe First winning creators of Labels and Fanboy.
